The compressive strength of a carton compression tester is divided into effective value and final value. Sometimes, the force value changes during the compression test from slow to fast, directly to the collapse point, and sometimes gradually increases to the collapse point. In long-term compression tests, we have found that the change in force value sometimes has a certain buffer: that is, when the force value and deformation increase to a certain extent, the force value stops, the deformation continues to increase, and after a period of time, the force value continues to increase until the carton collapses. We can call this the force value before the buffer effective value and the deformation before the buffer effective deformation. After the buffer, although the force value can continue to increase, the carton has already begun to deform and cannot meet the requirements of use, so the standard for judging the compressive strength of the carton should be the effective value in the compression test.
