Troubleshooting of the dust chamber
Category: Industry News
Dust Chamber Troubleshooting: Dust chambers are used to test the sealing performance of products, mainly according to IP5X and IP6X test methods, simulating the dusty environment encountered during the production, transportation, and storage of products to test the protective performance of the product shell. Nowadays, the role of dustproof testing equipment in quality control is increasingly valued, especially when some parts manufacturers supply related products to large automobile manufacturers, the dust chamber must meet the relevant standard test requirements and carry out verification work according to various relevant standards in the product design stage. Only by immediately resolving the problems found through dustproof testing equipment and other related tests can enterprises produce ideal products for customers.

During the dust chamber test, malfunctions of the dust chamber may be caused by power failures and operational errors. How to handle test failures without affecting the reliability and authenticity of the test results?
Dust Chamber Troubleshooting Methods
1. When the dustproof test chamber is turned on, the instrument does not turn on, and there is no power: Check if the power supply is normal, the phase sequence is normal, and if there is a neutral wire.
2. Do not blow dust: Check if the blower is working properly or if the blower is too small, and check if the dust is dry.
3. No vibration: Check if the vibration motor is working properly.
4. The dust chamber should be managed and operated by a dedicated person, the chamber body and blower should be cleaned regularly, and professional personnel should perform regular maintenance.
5. In order to stably exert the functions and performance of the test chamber, the annual temperature should be between fifteen and twenty-five degrees, and the relative humidity should be less than 85%.
6. Distance between adjacent walls or objects. The ambient temperature at the installation site should not change drastically. It should be installed in a place without direct sunlight, good ventilation, away from combustibles, explosives, and high-temperature heat sources. The equipment should be installed in a place with less dust and as close to the power supply as possible.
7. Equipment power failure: Check if the power supply is normal, check if the phase sequence is normal, and if there is a neutral wire.
The test samples of the dust chamber are exposed to a vertical airflow containing a specific amount of dust, not a laminar airflow. Therefore, the test dust should be stirred and blown into the sealed test chamber. If specified in the relevant specifications, the sample should be connected to a vacuum pump for suction, so that the gas in the dust test chamber can enter the sample through gaps, sleeves, or other similar parts. The pressure drop should be adjustable and monitorable, and the pumping rate should be measured.
According to the operating conditions of the sample. The sample housing can be divided into two types:
Type 1: The pressure inside the sample housing may be different from the external atmospheric pressure, for example, due to the running thermal cycle. For samples with Type 1 housing, place them in the dust chamber, install them in the normal operating position, connect the vacuum pump, and make the internal pressure of the sample lower than the atmospheric pressure. For this purpose, a suitable hole should be provided on the housing. If there is a drain hole on the sample wall, the vacuum tube should be connected to the hole without re-drilling. If there is more than one drain hole, the vacuum tube should be connected to one of the holes, and the other holes should be sealed during the test.
Type 2: The internal air pressure of the sample housing is the same as the external air pressure. For samples with Type 2 housing, place them in the dust chamber and install them in the normal operating position. All openings remain open.
